To the one who feels broken,
I know it’s sometimes overwhelming to look at the brokenness of your life. But won’t you please shift your attention to the One who holds all of your pieces. Your life is in His hands and He will make your brokenness beautiful. He wants every part of your heart, He is not afraid of the pieces and He is not concerned about the extent that He has to go in order to embrace you in His arms. I want to remind you that you are oh so beautiful, more than enough, and made on purpose for a purpose. In a world that’s continually shouting at you left and right, telling you how to look and who to be, it’s sometimes hard to hear God’s whisper of your worth and your identity. But if at any time you feel insecure, just remind yourself that you are secure in Christ. When we truly abide in Jesus, our imperfections fade away because His perfections are enough. To us, broken things might seem like they have lost their value, however, God sees it as an opportunity to shine His glory through the cracks. Let me give you a real life example of this: In ancient Japan, there was a tradition called “kintsugi," where potters would take something that is broken and make it whole again through the art of filling in the cracks with gold. This redefining process was not easy, it required heat, pressure and time. Throughout the whole process, the potter knew exactly what he was doing and that’s the same case with us. God knows exactly what He’s doing when it comes to the redefining process of your life. When we begin to surrender our pieces to the Potter, it’s in that moment we will begin to see the beauty in our brokenness. Romans 8:28 says, “For we know, that You work all things together for those who love You.” I wanted to remind you, that even if it doesn’t feel good in the moment, He’s working it all together for your good and He is sustaining your heart. It’s all over Isaiah 40 that our strength will rise as we wait upon the Lord. Also, in Psalms 46:10 we are reminded to be still and know that the Lord is in control. So how dare us even think that we know what’s best and try to figure it all out when we have been told time and time again that His ways are higher and beyond comprehension. Let’s be a generation of women who let go and let God! Let’s be a generation of women who are beautiful not because of what we do, but because of what God is doing through our brokenness. There are 2 things that I find crucial when finding beauty in your brokenness: 1.) Draw close to God 2.) Find your tribe I say these two things because drawing close to God will be the ultimate source of your peace and strength. Drawing close to your tribe will remind you that you are not broken alone. There is something so powerful in doing life with other like-minded and like-hearted women. So, let’s look left and right at others as inspiration and not intimidation and let’s join hands with them and run the race towards the promised prize. Let’s delight in the Lord together! I said it before, but I want to say it again so it’s engraved in your head and leaves a lasting imprint in your heart… YOU are oh so beautiful, more than enough, made on purpose for a purpose and your brokenness is beautiful!
